Setting Up Rules for E-mail Processing rules can be used to filter out e-mails that are being sent to your SumterNet email address. Outlook Express Open Outlook Express, go to Tools, Message Rules, then Mail. This will open a window where you can setup rules that are specific for each email recieved. Example: A rule can be set to look for certain words in the message field like "free porn" or "easy loan" or "free credit" and if they are found, the message will be deleted from the server. iMail (WebMail) Go to www.sumternet.com and click on the "Email" link to log into the email account. In the "Personal Account Options" drop down menu, select "Change Processing Rules". Select the field "From", and then in the "Phrase" box, type in the email address that you want blocked. Next click the "Contains" checkbox. Now click the "Add Condition" button. Finally, at the bottom of the page, select the "Delete the Message" checkbox, and then click "Finish". It is not SumterNet's responsibility to filter or censor the internet in any way, form, or fashion, except in those instances dictated by federal, state, and/or local law. Bear in mind that each user has unique tastes, and interests, so banning all forms of one type of internet content is not only unethical, but also a form of censorship.
